Geographical Parameters of Program

The geographical parameters of the program is all areas north of the Brisbane River, west through to Samford and extending northbound through the Pine Rivers area.

Norths have a strong identity within the northern districts of Brisbane, the Brisbane Rugby League (BRL) and the Queensland Rugby League (QRL).  The Norths Devils development program has thirteen associated Junior Clubs and three High School Elite Programs.
 
The success of Norths within the BRL and QRL competitions has firmly established the organisation at the forefront of rugby league development in Queensland.

Grants to Junior Clubs in the Program

Grants to local clubs are as follows:

• Funds to each Norths Devils associated Club, these funds go toward football equipment, coach, sports medicine and referee accreditation etc
• Assistance with Premier sides
• Wavell Secondary School toward their excellence program
• Norths Devils Scholarship program
• Brisbane Broncos Scholarship program.

Program Development Clinics

• Development clinics held include the following:
• November December January - Norths Devils Cadet pre-season program (Under 15, Under 16 and Under 17)
• February - Mini Clinic 140 players involving Norths Devils Squad.
• March - Currimundi Camp - 60 players 20 coaches (3 day camp)
• U13 Emerging squad training -  20 players 6 sessions
• U14 Emerging Squad training - 20 players 6 sessions
• U13 U14 U16 Norths Devils v Gold Coast representative matches
• Mini-Mod Sponsor day 120 players.

Program Referee Development & Accreditation

Coaching education and development is a priority of the Norths Devils development program.  These include: 

• Norths Devils Coach updates (50 coaches 2 per year)
• Junior Club Coach updates
• Involvement with Emerging and Cadet squad development programs.
• Progression and development support at Junior A Level
• Coaching and development officer and head coach visits to junior clubs.
• Junior coach visits to the Senior Club Sessions.

Junior coach accreditation is controlled by the QRL. The Norths Devils development grant allows for expenditure in this area.

Program Junior Clubs

• 13 Clubs
• 4,000 players.

Senior Players in Local Area

Norths are the established senior club in the Northern districts area.  Some of our junior clubs do have Open, U/22, and U/20 teams in second division competitions conducted by the BRL.

Support for Players re: Junior Levies for Representative Teams

The Norths Devils Development grants can be used for junior representative levies.   The Norths Devils also assist with fundraising with the provision of raffle packs etc. for individual players, teams and clubs.

• 2 squads @ 20 players each

Junior A Program

• 15, 16 and 17 years age groups
• 1 teams x 16 and 17 years age groups
• 2 teams x 15 years age group

Cadet Squads

• 15 – 17 years age groups
• 20 players

Development Squad

• 20 players x 19 years and under age group

U/19 Colts Team

Wavell Heights State High School – Rugby League Excellence Program
